1. Housing as a Human Right

As cities continue to grow and evolve, housing stands at the heart of our shared future. The way we build, design, and manage our homes has a direct impact not only on people’s quality of life but also on the environment we all depend on. We believe that access to safe, affordable, comfortable and sustainable housing is not a privilege—it’s a fundamental right that must guide all urban policies and development strategies.

2. Building for the Future

Sustainability in housing means thinking long-term. It requires energy-efficient buildings, renewable materials, and green infrastructure that help reduce emissions and adapt to rising temperatures. But it also means ensuring that every person, regardless of income or background, can live with dignity in a healthy, resilient home. We cannot talk about sustainability without addressing social justice and inclusion.

3. Collaboration and Innovation

We call on local governments, developers, and citizens to work together in transforming how housing is conceived and built. Public policies must promote renovation over demolition, prioritize cooperative and community-led housing, and protect existing affordable homes from speculation. At the same time, innovation and technology should be harnessed to make construction cleaner, faster, and more accessible to all.

4. Participation and Transparency

Education and participation are also key. Citizens should have a voice in shaping their neighborhoods, from energy solutions to urban green spaces. Housing policies must be transparent, participatory, and accountable—built on dialogue rather than imposed decisions. Together, we can create urban environments that are both socially cohesive and environmentally sustainable.

5. A Call to Action

This manifesto is an invitation to action. Let’s build homes that respect the planet, strengthen communities, and guarantee that everyone has a place to call their own. A city that commits to sustainable housing commits to a fairer, greener, and more hopeful future for all.
