Descripció (English)

  • -Have you noticed how summers keep getting hotter? Walking around the city lately feels like crossing a giant oven. Whether you're waiting for the bus, taking the kids to the park, or just trying to get to work, the heat is becoming unbearable — especially in areas with zero trees or shade. It's time we start thinking seriously about how to make our public spaces cooler and more livable.
  • +Okay, real talk: this city is getting way too hot in summer. Like, “stick to the sidewalk” hot. And there’s barely any shade when you’re walking around — no trees, no shelter, nothing. It’s rough for kids, older folks, and honestly, everyone who just wants to make it to the bus stop without melting.
  • -This debate is part of the city’s strategic planning for 2035. I'm starting it because I believe we need more shaded spots, trees, pergolas, green roofs, awnings — anything that helps us survive the heatwaves. What do you think? Should the city invest more in green spaces and shade? Should buildings be required to provide it? Let’s share ideas and figure it out together — because everyone deserves a shady spot when the sun won’t quit.
  • +I started this debate because I think we seriously need more shady spots around town. Trees, awnings, benches under something leafy — whatever works. Since the city’s doing this big planning thing for 2035, shouldn’t we be thinking about how to stay cool? I’d love to hear what you think — where do we need shade the most? What ideas do you have?
