What we heard in the debates

Avatar: Official post Official post

Over the past two weeks, residents gathered in neighborhoods across the city to take part in the public debate phase of Participatory Budget 2026. More than 500 people joined workshops and forums to discuss proposals, raise concerns, and suggest improvements. The energy and care shown by participants was a clear sign of the city’s commitment to collective decision-making.

Key themes that emerged during the debates include the urgent need for more green public spaces, better mobility options for cyclists and pedestrians, and stronger support for youth programs and affordable housing. Several residents also emphasized the importance of creating inclusive projects that benefit people with disabilities and older adults.

These discussions will help guide the refinement of submitted proposals before they move to the technical evaluation stage. We’re deeply grateful to everyone who contributed their ideas and time. The next step? The city will now assess the feasibility of each proposal, and then it will be time to vote!
